After a rocky start to 2020 and 2021, the 2022 NFL season had fans hungry for action. With some new names on this list, as well as a surprisingly old one, the following are the top-rated NFL players of 2022.
1. Tom Brady, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Despite being of a much greater age than most NFL players, 45-year-old Tom Brady has once again silenced critics after his amazing performance in the past year and claimed number one for the fourth time.
He’s been a star quarterback since the 2000s and has some pretty astonishing accolades behind his name: from being a seven-time winner of the Super Bowl Championship to collecting five Super Bowl MVPs, and countless more accomplishments, there’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that Tom Brady deserves the top spot.
2. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
This quarterback recently earned his fourth MVP, and it just so happens to be his second one in a row. Which, we think, is only showcasing the fact that he still has plenty to give to his team.
He’s one of the most acclaimed quarterbacks around and even teammates like Sammy Watkins, who has played with other MVPs like Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes, are in awe of his continually great performances and say so during pretty much every interview.
3. Aaron Donald, Los Angeles Rams
With a top-five ranking, Aaron Donald of the LA Rams has shown he’s one of the best defensive players out there. He consistently ranks well in the NFL and is considered to be one of the best defence tacklers in the league’s history. His ability to side-rail opponents and wreck games for them is unprecedented, and it is clear why fans and teammates alike consider him to be the G.O.A.T of the game.
4. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
While he ranks at number eight on the official NFL standings, we feel that he deserves a top-five spot as Patrick Mahomes has continued to impress during this ongoing season. While it’s doubtful he’ll reclaim the numbers that made him MVP in 2018 any time soon, he still has shown his determination and team worth.
With five seasons behind him, he’s shown his amazing throwing prowess, and fans can agree that his reaching the top ten rankings for the fourth year in a row is fully deserved.
5. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
It seems as though Josh Allen has taken the lead as a favourite for the current season and many commentators consider him to be the up-and-coming number 1 quarterback for the year – but only time will tell if he’s as big a hit as an online casino South Africa has to offer.
We think he definitely ranks in the top 5 and can’t wait to see how his stats measure up at the end of the season – as last year he had 77.4% of his passes have zero interceptions, which rates as a 149% pass rating. He’s got plenty of drive and focus and is possibly going to become the best offensive player in the NFL this season.
With the number of players to choose between for top spots in offence, defence, quarterback and line-backers, these are the key players who’ve caught our eye, and we can’t wait to see if they keep up their starring track records and rake in more rewards for their teams.
